Penis enlargement , or male enhancement , is a technique that aims to increase the size of a human penis. Some methods aim to increase the total length, the other the thickness of the shaft, and the other the size of the gland. Techniques include pills, hormones, massage, stretching, inflation, incision, injections, and implants. While some techniques are hoax, others may be somewhat effective, it may be a high-risk complication.
Several surgical methods have the most effective evidence, while others have frequent, sometimes severe, complications including scarring that causes, after all, penile shrinkage or erectile dysfunction. Noninvasive methods have received little scientific study, and most lack scientific evidence of effectiveness, although scientific evidence supports some elongation with prolonged traction. Some dukun products can increase penile erection, thought by the consumer for penis enlargement.
Due to the great risk and uncertainty, medical professionals are generally skeptical of penis enlargement and avoid trying it. Medical doctors do treat micropenis as a medical condition, but usually by surgery, which may be justified to improve urinary or sexual function. Most men looking for penis enlargement have normal-sized penises, and many may experience dysmorphophobia of the penis by underestimating the size of their own penis while overstating the average size.

There are some surgical treatments, most of which carry a significant risk of complications. Procedures by unlicensed surgeons can cause serious complications. Surgical treatments at risk include subcutaneous fat injection, suspensory ligament division, and dermal filler injection, silicone gel, or PMMA. The American Urological Association (AUA) and Urology Care Foundation "considers subcutaneous fat injection to improve penile thickness to a procedure that has not been proven safe or efficacious AUA also considers division of the penis suspensory ligament to increase penile length in adults into a procedure that has not been proven safe or efficacious. "Dermal fillers are also not approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use on the penis.

Supplements
Pills, patches and penis enlargement ointments are sold online. While some products contain ingredients that are generally recognized as safe, others contain ingredients that can be questioned, sometimes kept secret. Such products are generally considered ineffective.
Physical techniques
Physical techniques involve enhancement, hanging weight, and vacuum pressure. There is also significant overlap between techniques intended to enlarge the penis and techniques intended to achieve other related goals, such as reversing impotence, prolonging the duration of an erection, or increasing the sexual climax.
Pumping
Generally called a "penis pump", a vacuum erection device, or VED, creates an expanding negative pressure and thus draws blood to the penis. Medically approved VEDs, which treat erectile dysfunction, limit the maximum pressure, while pumps purchased by consumers looking for penis enlargement can reach harmful pressure, damaging the penile tissue. To maintain tumescence after breaking the airtight seal of the device, one has to narrow the base of the penis, but the narrowing used for 30 minutes can permanently damage the penis and cause erectile dysfunction. Although vacuum therapy can treat erectile dysfunction enough to prevent penile damage and shrinkage, clinical trials have not found it effective for penile enlargement.
Jelqing
Performed on a half tumescent penis, jelqing is simultaneous manual manipulation squeezing and stroking the shaft from the base to the corona. Also called "milking", this technique has an ancient Arabic origin. Despite numerous anecdotal reports of success, medical evidence does not exist. Journalists have rejected this method because it is biologically unreasonable, or even impossible, although it is not likely to seriously damage the penis. However, if done excessively or roughly, jelqing can be imagined to cause rupture, scarring, deformity, and desensitization.
Traction
Traction is a nonsurgical method to lengthen the penis by using an attractive device in the penis gland for a long time. In 2013, the majority of studies investigating the use of penile traction focus on treating curvature and penile shrinkage as a result of Peyronie's disease, although some literature exists on the impact on men with short penises.
Society and culture
In 2013 in Vietnam, many Vietnamese men try their own penis enlargement by injecting liquid silicone into their penis, and then suffer complications such as infection, necrosis, tumors, swelling, deformities, sexual dysfunction, and hospitalization.
