Habib Gorgi (1892-1965) was an artist from the turn of the next century of pioneering modern Egyptian art. He graduated from the Teacher Training School and then received a scholarship to England in 1920 to study pedagogical methods of teaching art, and watercolors. The earliest pioneer of arts education, and author of the first Arabic book on the subject in 1936. He taught graduates of the School of Fine Arts and Applied Arts to prepare them to become art teachers and obtain their National Teacher Certificate. He founded the Association of Art Advocates in 1928 for artists who investigated Egyptian identity through art, and watercolors in particular. His School of Spontaneous Sculpture and Textile Image School was continued by Ramesses Wissa Wassef's son-in-law at Harraneya. He represented Egypt at a conference on art teaching in Paris since 1936, and his educational experiments were an inspiration to international writers, including Wilhelm Viola, in his book The Art of the Child. During the scholarship period in England, he specializes in watercolors. Habib Georghe was interested in the aesthetics of Egyptian art, and adopted this through his call to paint the Egyptian landscape, and through the founding of the Folk Art School, where he coached a number of spontaneous artists, including Sayeda Massak, Samira Hosny, Yehya Bu Seri ', Bodour Girgis, gifted in the environmental sculpture, in the period 1938 to 1951.

Philosophy He built the Folk Art School on the principles of Swiss psychologist Carl Jung about the collective unconscious. Gorio postulates that the Egyptian genius who gave birth to the artistic traditions of Pharaon, Coptic and Islam still exists in the existence of modern Egyptians, as they interact with the same environment, society, climate and genetic factors. If a child, not exposed to Western school patterns, is given the opportunity to express himself through clay, or sculpture, or textiles, the inherent genius will explode. His experiment was successful, and was recognized and admired both in Egypt and abroad.

Watercolors He is an expert watercolor painter, who paints the view of Egypt in the open air. For example, Christian monasteries stand in the heart of the desert in a pure style reflecting an almost mystical saving and severity.

Habib Gorgi Museum In 1971, Ramses Wissa Wassef designed and built a museum for Habib Gorgi's teaching and philosophy experiments. The museum at Ramses Wissa Wassef Art Center in Giza, Egypt, features figurative terracotta statues by children and young adults.
