In the early days of beta testing, the term use of the product caused controversy, as it claimed to retain an irrevocable license to use certain works that end-users send forever. At that time, Adobe took Photoshop Express users into Adobe.com's General Terms of Use, which were not designed to reflect on the types of user-generated content used in Photoshop Express.
After user concerns and negative pressures, Adobe issued a new and more specific Terms of Use for Photoshop Express products that replaced parts of the General Terms, and clarified many of these issues.
