Angry wrap , also called anger packets , is a common name for the high level of anger and frustration resulting from the inability to unpack, especially some hot sealed plastic blister packs and clamshell. People are potentially injured from attempting to open a difficult package: the use of cutting tools may pose a risk of damage to the contents of the package. An easy opening system is available to increase the convenience of opening the package.

Packaging sometimes has to be made difficult to open. For example, regulations state that some over-the-counter medications have a resistance tamper to prevent unauthorized opening before delivery to the intended customer and are in a child-resistant packaging. Other packages are deliberately made difficult to open to reduce theft and steal packages.
The hard plastic blister pack also protects the product when shipped. In addition, using transparent plastic allows customers to view the product directly before purchasing it.
The term wrap rage itself appears as a result of media attention to the phenomenon. In 2006, Consumer Reports magazine recognized the wrapping phenomenon when creating Oyster Awards for products with the most difficult packaging to open. A story in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette about wrapping anger was shown in The Colbert Report when host Stephen Colbert tried to use a knife to pull out a new calculator from his plastic packaging, unsuccessfully.
A survey in Yours , a magazine devoted to people over 50, found that 99% of 2,000 respondents said the packaging became more difficult to open over the past 10 years, 97% said there was "too much excess packaging ", and 60% said they had purchased products that were designed with more convenient packaging. In a survey conducted at Cox School of Business, nearly 80 percent of households "express anger, frustration or direct anger" with plastic packaging. Consumers also tend to use words like "hate" and "difficult" when describing these products.
Consumers sometimes use potentially unsafe tools such as razors, boxcutters, snips and ice picks in their attempt to unpack. In the Yours survey, 71% of respondents said they had been injured when trying to open food packaging. The most common injury respondents from trying to unpack are "cut fingers, followed by cut hands, sprained wrists, bruised hands and tense shoulder muscles." According to a study in the UK, more than 60,000 people receive hospital care every year due to injury from opening food packaging. The Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that an attempt to unblock led to about 6,500 emergency department visits in the US in 2004. A 2009 study conducted by the Institute for Good Medicine found that 17 percent of adults over the age of 21 are injured at least once or know someone who was injured when opening holiday gifts or birthdays.

Packaging design
When packaging and resellers are willing, there are many possible solutions to allow easy access to the contents of the package. Easy access, however, can also allow more thefts and shoplifting.
Some companies make their packages easier for consumers to be open to help reduce frustration. Other companies must maintain tamper-resistant package. The forces that drive efforts to improve packaging include pressure from consumers and retailers and from senior citizens who find it increasingly difficult to unpack as they age.
Some easy-to-open package-making methods have long been available. These include perforations, "tear tape" and open components. Some easy-to-open features can add additional cost for packaging.
Opening
Household scissors or utility knives are sometimes used to unlock difficult packaging. Tin snips are effective for hard plastic; Higher mechanical advantages of metal compound snips make it possible to cut these open packages even using small hand strengths.
