Pincer nails (also known as "Omega nails", and "Trumpet nails") are nail disturbances that the lateral edges of the nails slowly approach each other, pressing the nails and dermis underneath. It happens less frequently in fingernails than toenails, and usually there are no symptoms.
The hereditary pinching nails have been described although genes or mutations that cause hereditary forms seem unknown.
