Campus

Lewisville High School was originally located on Purnell Street in downtown Lewisville. LHS moved to its current location on Main Street and Valley Parkway in 1968. At that time, the school was located on a farm on the edge of Lewisville. LHS has some additions since then due to the huge growth of the city of Lewisville. In the 2012-2013 school year, Lewisville High School officially opened its new building adjacent to the old building built in 1968 but still on the same campus. The following school year, a new auditorium was opened. The demolition of the old building starts right on the last day of the 2011-2012 school year. Old campus is cleaned for use of additional parking.

Lewisville High School currently consists of three different campuses. Killough Lewisville High School North, "North Campus" and Harmon Lewisville High School South serve ninth and tenth graders. The LHS "Main Campus" primarily caters to eleven and twelve graders. For extracurricular activities, students are transported from Killough and Harmon campus to Main campus. Together, their enrollment in 2014 is 3,980 students, making LHS the largest secondary school in the district.

Student Council

The Lewisville High School Student Council has won the State Lottery. The board is the governing board of students from Lewisville High School.

Band

The Lewisville Marching band has earned the "1" (best score) on the UIL Contest each year since 2000. In the competition, marching bands stick to the marching style of the military in the old school, concentrating on marching in lines and blocks, with spartan use of thematic elements.

Orchestra

The LHS Orchestra Program is designed to develop and advance string orchestra research in the Lewisville Independent School District's oldest and middle schools, and two Camps Class 9-10 (Killough LHS North and Harmon LHS South). In addition to performing concerts during the school year, LHS Orchestra also participates in orchestra competitions.

The LHS orchestra is currently divided into three groups: Honors (Varsity), Chamber and Sinfonia.

Theater

The Lewisville High School theater program has taken both drama and musicals to perform on the Main Stage at the Texas State Thespian Festival.

In 2015, Lewisville took "The African Company Presents: Richard III" from Carlyle Brown to State on UIL One Act Play and placed 1st for 6A.

Athletics

The Lewisville High School athletic team competes in District 5 of Region I in the 6-A division of the University of the Interscholastic League. One LHS athlete, track and field athlete, Earvin Parker, has been named a national athletic athlete this year by the National High School Trainers Association. In 2003, Parker ran the fastest 100 meters race and the second fastest 200 meters race in the United States. He is also named for the USA boy team and the All-USA field team.

Football

The school football team was a state finalist in 1972, the country's semi-finalist in 1979, and won the state championships in 1993 and 1996 (at that time the team was featured in the "Tim Cheerios" cereal box). The 1996 Farmer football team set a championship game record for most of the yard earned on the pitch (547, the team did not try one feed during the game), while a combined score of 92 in the game set a new record for most points in an 11-man title game. A team previously achieved notability for different reasons in 1946, when members of the Fighting Farmer football team chased bank robbers until he was exhausted, allowing him to be caught by unarmed gas station officers.

Softball

On June 1, 2013, the girls' softball team of Lewisville High School won the State University of Interscholastic 5-A championship by beating Kingwood High School 3-2. The team finished fourth in the district standings at the end of the regular season, prompting many analysts to label the team as "underdogs" throughout the tournament. Before the last state tournament in Austin, WFAA journalist Ted Madden wrote, "If there's a team that does not seem to be in Austin, it's a 13-loss team from Lewisville."
