A wax comb is a tool used in the maintenance and removal of surfboard wax on a surfboard. The wax comb usually has features like jagged edges or toothed and straight, relatively sharp edges. The jagged edge is used to create a textured groove to increase the wax appeal and the straight edge is used to erode unwanted candles. In addition to straight edges to remove wax, some wax combs even have a curved tip inward to the rails (such as Mr. Zog's Sex Wax "Sex Comb"). In addition, the wax comb can have features such as fin keys, bottle openers or snap for portability (attachments to inner pocket loops, lanyards or lanyard attachment straps).
