Histori
"Bondi" or "Boondi" is an Aboriginal word which means water breaking stones or the sound of water breaking rocks . The Australian Museum notes that Bondi means battle place using a boondi stick (nullas nullas or combat rod) occurs .
In 1809 road builder William Roberts received a land grant in the area. In 1851 Edward Smith Hall and Francis O'Brien bought 200 hectares (0.81 km 2 ) from the Bondi area covering most of the beach front, which was named "The Bondi Estate." Hall is O'Brien's father-in-law. Between 1855 and 1877 O'Brien bought his father-in-law's share of the land, renamed the "O'Brien Estate" land, and made the beach and surrounding land publicly available as a picnic and entertainment resort ground. As the beach becomes more popular, O'Brien threatens to stop public beach access. However, the City Council believes that the Government needs to intervene to make the beach a public reserve. On June 9, 1882, Bondi Beach became a public beach.
On February 6, 1938 five people drowned and more than 250 people were rescued or awakened after a series of great waves hit the coast and pulled people back into the sea, a day known as the "Black Sunday".
Bondi Beach is a working-class suburb for most of the twentieth century with New Zealand immigrants comprised of the majority of the locals. After World War II, Bondi Beach and the Eastern Suburbs became home to Jewish migrants from Poland, Russia, Hungary, Czechoslovakia and Germany. The flow of Jewish immigration continued into the 21st century and the area has a number of synagogues and halal butchers. This area is currently very multicultural with many new rich Asian families and Samoans. Multicultural migration funded and encouraged the growth of rural areas throughout the 90s to the turn of the century, moving it continuously from the roots of the working class to the middle/upper class similar to its neighbors in Rose Bay and Bellevue Hill which were listed as the most expensive zip codes in the country this was in 2003, 2004, 2005.
Bondi Beach has long been the center of efforts to fight indecency in beach clothes. The beach is the focal point of the Sydney Sydney bathing suit protest 1907, which is held against the proposed clothing standards for beach visitors. Local Government Law, Ordinance No. 52 (1935) governed the courtesy of swimming suits and prevailed between 1935 and 1961, and resulted in public controversy when the two-part "bikini" became popular after World War II. The coastal inspector of the Waverley Council, including the legendary Aub Laidlaw, is responsible for upholding the law and asked to measure the dimensions of a swimsuit and instruct offenders against common morality offshore. While on vacation in Australia in 1951, American actress Jean Parker made international headlines when she was escorted to the beach after Laidlaw decided that her bikini was too minimal. The rules became increasingly obsolete during the 1950s and were replaced in 1961 with a bath that required "clad in adequate and adequate bathrobes", allowing for more subjective judgmental judgment. In the 1980s topless baths were common on Bondi Beach, especially at the southern end.
Sydney's Water Board maintains an untreated sewerage channel not far from the north end of a closed beach in the mid-1990s when the ocean ocean in the water is completed.

Overview
Bondi Beach is about 1 kilometer (0.62 miles) and receives many visitors throughout the year. Surf Life Saving Australia has assigned a different hazard rating to Bondi Beach in 2004. While the north end has been rated 4 gently (with 10 being the most dangerous), the south side is rated as 7 due to a rip current known as "Backpackers' Rip" because its proximity to the bus stop, the fact that many backpackers and tourists do not realize that the water is smooth and smooth is a rip, and quite dangerous, and the reluctance of tourists to walk along the beach for a safer swim. The southern end of the beach is generally reserved for boarding surfboards. The yellow and red flags determine the safe swimming area, and visitors are advised to swim between them.
There is an underwater shark net, but it does not stretch the whole coast, it consists of overlapping parts. Many other beaches along the same stretch of beach have similar shark nets.
